The Da Silva twins: Fight or Flight? By Deaglan O'Muiriu @Deaglan8

I would like to start this off by having a look back at some of Rafael and Fabio's performances last season.
I thought Rafael was brilliant at the start of the year but with injuries and suspensions hampering his run in the team, it was left to his twin brother to step in and continue the family trend of brilliance on the right side.

This would culminate in Fabio's assured and mature performance in the Champions League final, considering his age and relative inexperience against such opposition, he was the star performer on that night in my opinion.
Rafael endured a nasty 9 days back in January when he was sent off at White Hart Lane on the 16th and then suffered concussion at Bloomfield Road on the 25th, but performed admirably in both games which, I suppose, was typical of how his season went.
Fabio, was outstanding against Arsenal in the FA Cup and against Schalke in the Champions League semi final, again, highlighting his appetite for the big occasions.
He has captained Brazil at every point of youth level but his United career stalled in 2008 due to a shoulder injury.
Sir Alex said of the twins in 2009:"It will be interesting to find out if their football ability is as identical as they look.
Their football abilities have indeed proved to be extremely similar, both tenacious, strong in the tackle and great going forward, also proving they have an eye for goal. Rafael's peach of a volley at the Emirates in the 09/10 season springs to mind.
What is in store, though, for these two next season? I personally would love to see both of them in the same starting XI, but with both of them excelling in the right back slot, are they competing with each other for that position? Could Fabio dislodge Evra at left back?
My answer to the last question would be an emphatic yes! Evra, has proven on multiple occasions, especially when faced with Tottenham's Aaron Lennon, that he can be weak defensively.
So, if they can both stay injury and suspension free for the majority of next season, then we may well see them line up on opposite flanks. What a mouth watering prospect and great for Manchester United.
