Looking forward: United Vs City Preview...by Alun Belmont @alto101010

Never has there been a bigger Community Shield game. The curtain raiser for the season is normally a low key affair. This one promises to be truly different as the two Manchester  clubs meet. Neither side will want to lose this game as there is a early chance to get one over on each other and early bragging rights for the fans.

Alex Ferguson won't want to lose at wembley to City again, he has said earlier in the week "it won't be a normal community shield for Manchester United" "it's about addressing our noisy neighbours again" Ferguson will want to field his strongest available side, whilst also bringing in the odd young player to give them a early taste of Wembley.

The new Wembley hasn't been the best ground for United since it's re-opening in 2007 With a record that reads;
P10 W2 D5 L3
With one of those defeats coming against City in last seasons F.A cup semifinal. With United also finding goals hard to come by.

It will be interesting what Tactics Fergie will adopt for this game. I think the game could be won by our wingers, with Nani and Young both having pace to burn and being able to swap flanks as we used to in the Ronaldo days. Clichy was run ragged by Nani last season so look for him to run at the fullback as much as possible.

THE OPPOSITION:

Man City are a dangerous side to play against as they're very hard to break down having two midfielders (De Jong & Barry) sitting in-front of the back four. If City score first they become very compact and tight hitting teams on the counter attack. That's not saying they are not a force going forward.

THE DANGER MEN!

Carlos Tevez;
The man every United fan loves to hate. Tevez needs no introduction, Since leaving Old Trafford Tevez has become City's captain & talisman scoring 52 times in 81 games.

Mario Balletelli
He hasn't had the start to his City career he probably expected, hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons but on his day he is a game winner. His record at city reads P28 G10 with 6 of those coming in the league.

Yaya Toure
Since joining from Barcelona the big midfielder has gone from strength to strength Signed as a holding midfielder he has shown he has a eye for goal With a impressive record of P34-G6 also getting 5 assists.

Sergio 'Kun' Aguero
A unknown quantity in England Kun comes with a big price tag. Recently signed for £35m he had a very impressive season with Atletico scoring 20 goals in 30 games. A very skilful player who could provide a formidable partnership with Tevez.

Verdict

This one is hard to predict expect a tight game with both sides being so strong defensively. I think the game will be won by the odd goal. I will go for a reversal of the the F.A cup game 1 nil United. I fancy Young to open his United account with the only goal of the game.
