Manchester United finally got their summer rolling after confirming that Shinji Kagawa will be joining the Red Devils for an initial fee of £12m that could rise to £17m. This represents excellent value in my opinion & I have already extolled the virtues of the Japanese international previously on the blog. With 17 goals & 13 assists to his name Kagawa stormed his way to the Bundesliga Player of the Year award, winning his second league title in a row. His performances for Borussia Dortmund, in particular in the second half of the season, made Mario Goetze's injury seem inconsequential. Having been linked with the quite brilliant teenager at the beginning of last summer I started watching Dortmund regularly and continued to do so after his injury due to the brilliant Kagawa. To say he was instrumental to the team is not an overestimation of his influence. He was quite simply sensational this season. Alongside Lewandowski, he was their most important player.
He finds space in between defenders very nicely making him hard to mark & his ability on the ball in tight situations is quite excellent making him very dangerous in the attacking midfielder role. I'm truly excited about watching him play for United next year & you will see him improve & develop into a top worldwide star.
However, you will read plenty of blog articles, newspaper articles, tweets, opinion etc. on him and will, no doubt, have a good knowledge of him by the time the season arrives.
