RVP Hails Fans For His Tremondous Start At United

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has thanked the club fans for their support and the Dutch international believes his current form is because of the backing he has been given by the Red Devils supporters.

The 29 year old arrived at Old Trafford during the summer of 2012 from league rivals Arsenal. Since arriving at Manchester, the Dutch international has been in impressive form and has already taken his tally to 20 goals in all competitions this season.

“It’s always nice to be recognized by the fans. I have settled into the club quite quickly and I am really enjoying playing in this team. I would like to thank the fans for all their support. It’s not all about scoring goals, but obviously that does help. It’s great that so many players have scored goals over the season so far,” van Persie told the club’s official website.

RVP has been leading Sir Alex Ferguson’s attacking division and has also seen scoring crucial goals for United, which includes late goals against Southampton, arch rivals and Manchester City and a late equalizer against West Ham United last weekend keeping the Red Devils hope of playing in the FA Cup still alive.

The former Arsenal skipper was voted as the player of the month for December. However, van Perise claimed the last month of the previous year was the difficult one, with a lot of fixtures in quick time. In spite of busy festive period, United has avoided a defeat and the Dutch international is looking to continue his impressive form for the rest of the season.

“December is always a difficult month and I feel we have come through this period as we wanted to and hopefully we can now push on for the rest of the season,” the Dutch international added.
