Match Review: West Brom 1 -2 United by Krupesh Muthukumar @Krupeshvm:

Champions indeed...
Manchester United registered a 2-1 win over West Bromwich albion at the Hawthorns in a rather entertaining encounter. He match showed the grit and determination that United had during these 20 years of the premier league..

Ferguson had put up the same team which won the community shield expect bringing in Fabio for the injured Evra and Cleverley who impressed with his second half performance during that game. The Baggies on the other side preferred their record signing Shane Long instead of Odemwingie,

The match began in a pulsating fashion, both teams attacking head to toe.But , United were the better team in the first 25- minutes where the new signing Ashley Young combined very well with Rooney and made life very difficult for the defenders.
As expected United took the deserved lead through Rooney whose magnificient pre-season form continued. Ashley Young came up with the assist.

The match should have been level by half time but a blunder from the 18-million pound signing De Gea saw the Baggies equalize through Shane Long whose scored on his debut.

After the half way stage the match was quiet in the sense the action was not entertaining as it was in the first half. A string of substitutions were made due to the injuries sustained during the match by Vidic and Rio. United’s passing was not up to the mark in the second
half as they gave away possession easily.

United were searching for the winner in the last twenty minutes and looked more threating as they do during the final minutes. There came the winner at the 81st minute when the best player on the field Ashley Young cut past a defender and then shot across goal which was deflected in. The away fans went crazy after the goal was scored.
This seemed as if the spirit was a part of United’s DNA.

Then the match ended in a quiet manner where united maintained most of the possession for the last 10 minutes leaving the Baggies chasing shadows.

Though the game had been won by united the blunder made but De Gea was the highlight of the match. It’s still early times to decide how good a player he is but one thing is for sure   “In the premier league one has to swim or sink”. I think he has to start swimming early.
