Battle For Manchester, By Guest Blogger

Sundays match against Spurs was a make or break game for the Champions to stay in the Title race and it was the same for Spurs as they wanted to reduce the gap them and the league leaders Manchester City. Moreover Spurs wanted to win this game to get rid of the Jinx against United and the match was at White Hart Lane which many of them thought could give an added advantage to Spurs as their Home form this season has been remarkable.
It looked like Spurs missed the likes of Gareth Bale, Scott Parker and Rafael VanderVaart in the Spurs Midfield. United playing their strongest team with Wayne Rooney back in starting Line up for United and with better away performance this season United were looking for 3 points against Spurs. Spurs dominated the first half where Adebayor’s goal was disallowed due to hand ball and it was a good decision by Martin Atkinson. United came up with the goal at the end of First half which was like a Scare on Spurs. Wayne Rooney was left Unmarked and Rooney never misses such golden opportunity. Spurs did try to come back in the second half with some terrific saves from David De Gea and Rio Ferdinand playing like there is no tomorrow. Spurs defense was once again left open and United took advantage of it which led to United’s second goal. United’s 3rd goal was pure class from Ashley Young who made his comeback and also silenced his critics saying he is back and he wants to play regular football at United.
With 11 games to go it is evident that Premier League will Remain in Manchester this season as well. It is clear cut 2 horse race between the defending champions Manchester United and league leaders Manchester City. With City winning against Bolton last week they have made their position strong at the top of the league. It is too early to decide who will be the Champions of England but City has made their position Firm at the top of the table and United are right behind City. All in All it’s a two horse race between Manchester United and Manchester City. Come this May the Champions of England will be from Manchester and that’s for sure after Sunday’s clash between United and Spurs.
